  1. When should you start looking for a job? How far ahead are employers likely to accept you and expect to wait til your arrival?

I think it all depends on what type of job you have , alot of company's dont want to know till you are in the country.........
We were lucky my OH is in IT and has secured a job already before we get out there.....and they are still waiting for us to get out there...Aaaggggghhhhhhh !!!!!!!

Its never too early to see whats about but as Claire says not many companys are interested until you are here in the country. We got very little response when in the UK but once here we found approaching companys in person worked a treat and hubby ended up with a choice of job offers. Dont' limit yourself to looking for job vacancies, i know of a few guys now who have secured work by ringing companys out of the white pages etc who are in their line of work.
    Hope this helps a bit
