    Hi Lisa

The cut off used to be the end of the year....but it's now the end of June. It changed in 2000.

Right now your son would be in year 9 in school.

Here is a great guide to school years for you. http://www.faithlutheran.qld.edu.au/admissions/Documents/Guide for year of entry to College.pdf

Just to confuse things - schools often seem to have absolutely NO idea of what year children should go into. You may phone 3 schools and get three different replies. I have had people in the UK arguing with me on forums because a school has told them what year their child should be in and it's 100% wrong.

Hope that clears things up for you.

    Love

    Rudi
