    G'day Gail,

    And Welcome!!

I do know a couple of midwives at the Mater so could put you in touch with them. And my wife works in ICU at the Mater Adults. We moved here nearly two years ago and love it. Happy to tell you about it and "our story". Please PM me.

    Hello Gail

    Welcome to the forum.

I think March is a great time to move out!!! You will missed most of the humid heat, but still enjoy the warm autumn days before winter comes.....although winter here is more like a UK summer!!!

There are a lot of nurses that move to the Brisbane area.

    Made the move!

    Hi Zoe,
We did make the move to Brisbane last April and I am working at the Mater. The Mater is a lovely place to work. I did take bad at first as you are not as autonomous as back in UK but I would easily sacrifice that for the beautiful weather and lifestyle here.I would recommend anyone thinking of making the move to research it well and be prepared for some "down "days when you really miss friends and family. That said I don't regret the move and am loving it here.Don't hesitate to PM me if need further info
