  4. Are you settling in OK? Which part of Wales are you from?
I am going to be there in a few months, just in process of completing sale of my house and then going to rent short term until Jul/Aug when I shall be going for it!
Don't know anyone there and don't have a job lined up, but hoping to make friends and perhaps pick up some casual work as I am going to be studying my first three months there.
Can you give me any advice on good areas to rent?
    Thanks for mailing back.

Where will you be studying ? This might help members pin point areas a little easier. There are good uni's all across Brisbane and Gold Coast and lovely suburbs within commuting distance of each, be aware that if your looking at inner city your money wont go as far when choosing a rental.

  6. I will be studying through Open Uni so it doesn't really matter where I am. It's just a 13 week course to get accredited in Australian Tax and Company Law (I'm an accountant).
At that time I may get some casual work to get out there meeting people but afterwards I want to be fairly near the city (maybe inner Northern Suburbs) as most likely I will get work in the city.

Albany Creek seems a lovely area that isnt too far from everything ,another suburb/s on my fav list is Ferny Grove up into Samford, you seem to have abit more room to move the further out you go and the greenery in Samford is lovely. Good Luck with the course

    Hi there,

I have been in Brissy since March 08 and loving it, I'm welsh through and through and everyone tends to know it especially when the rugby is on (although the time difference doesn't help with the 6 nations!!!) I would love to meet other Welsh people here!!
