Hi Everyone,

My name is April and I am moving to Brisbane on 2nd September 2008. The reason for my title is that I joined this site on 25/11/07, put on a post to introduce myself, but didn't get one single reply. I was already a member of the sister site Poms in Oz and have basically stuck to that.

However I had an e-mail to say the site name has changed so I thought OK I'll give it another go.

I do recognise some of the people on here so Hi to you all aswell.

The rest of my family are Husband Richard, my three teenagers Bobbie-Leigh, Carrie and Bradley and our nephew Jason who is 27 and will be flying out with us "to see if he likes it"

My husband is Aussie born so we have been granted a Spouse visa, so if anyone would like to know anything about that I would be happy to help.

it is quiet here right now but soo I am sure it will take off like PIO...
I remember way back in the day when PIO was quiet like this..

It is kinda strange after being on pio for so long..I think in the first days of PIO it was blue too..Wow how far it has come eh...When I first joined pio it was so quiet...We were at the very beginning of our visa journey and without it we wouldn't have got our visa i'm sure...
I like this site too as its more centered on Brisbane and surrounding areas..
Still so much to learn and I have been here 7 months

Hi April,
I just wanted to say hello as I am also hoping to move to Brisbane in September with my OH and 2 girls (6&3). Mind you that is looking incresingly unlikely given the state of the housing market, but keeping fingers crossed that things will pick up over Easter. We waiting for our 175 visa to come through as well, so all in all doing a lot of waiting!

It's much smaller on here than PiO isnt it! Like Jo says I think it will start to take off over the next few months.

I've got everything crossed for you and trying to sell your house, you've certainly had a bit of a mare so far! Have you changed your agents?

Lou: We have got the house up with two different Agents! But I think it is the same across the board right now. I hope come May the sun comes out, then and we can open the pario doors and the buyers will see the garden and the pool in all it's glory

I could talk for England and Australia AND I love people watching!

 

Got everything crossed for you! It's so stressful isnt it, I'm still worried that our buyers might pull out at any minute....even though they have a complete bargain!!!!! like you say hopefully the market will pick up along with the weather! Plus it makes the garden look so much nicer when all the flowers are out and the sun is shining! And get you with a pool!!!! Sun shining down on that is sure to be a winner!

People watching (and then talking about them) is an all time favourite of mine!!
