Hello to all just a stab in the dark really but when my partner and i move to brissy in sept i was wondering if there might be any brit tilers out there that might be able to help me with employment. By trade im into fibreglass which i prob could get work in but i want a career change with my move. I have completed a course within the uk but as we are so close to our move i might as well stay in my job at the momment so if anyone might be able to help please drop me a line.

    tiler

hi my name is scott i have been in oz for over 3 years as a tiler. i first started off in perth and have recently moved to brisbane. i have been tiling in the uk for 15 years and when i got here struggled like mad as it was so different. since moving to brisbane the tiling here is much easier than in perth, but still very different from the uk. I am more than happy to give you a go when you arrive or at least point you in the right direction. unless you have a licence in brisbane you cannot work for yourself you must work for a licence holder. There is plently of work here. I live in northern brisbane in a suburb called Narangba. my e mail is scottallentiling@bigpond.com, drop me a line of i can help.

hello mate, i'm looking at moving either to Perth or Brisbane and i am a tiler.
which place would you reccomend? you say the tiling is different, in what way? i worked as a tiler in Tenerife, Spain for 6 years and that was different, mainly due to the heat, you had to be careful in the size of areas you notched or grouted.
keep in touch! i'm at the moment waiting to hear from the TRA, i have an AQF III and would like to be there by this time next year.
