Hi. Just moved on from POI! We live in Bunbury WA and have been here since 2006. Great part of the world, but a bit far for exploring all Australia has to offer.... so we're thinking of moving! Looking at Queensland for the Lifestyle. Are we kidding ourselves or are there still small towns where you can live near the beach and have a good lifestyle without breaking the bank?

Hubby is an electrician. We're meeting lots of tradies who are leaving Queensland and starting up here. Anyone explain why? FIFO isn't that great surely!

There are lots of FIFO expo's on in QLD lately so that may be contibuting to the amount of people going.

As for small towns near the coast , have a look around Gympie, Hervey Bay, Agnes Water etc ,it sounds like that sort of place and price may suit you and boy are they lovely areas.

Hi, we live just north of mandurah and we are also thinking of relocating to queensland. We have lived here by the beach for the last 6 years and loved every minute of it but we are starting to get a little bored and we're feeling quite isolated. My daughter loves the lifestyle and it is very chilled but I miss the buzz of the city. Need more of a social life!!!!! Looking forward to the next adventure. Scotty
