  1. hi all

i hope someone can give an answer to my dillema,we've arrived in adelaide on my husbands 176 state sponsored visa,on our way over to adelaide we went to brisbane to visit some friends and now we've arrived in adelaide we realise we've made a huge mistake and are finding it very difficult to get settled,we realise now that we'd prefer to settle in brisbane,we've been told that the two year commitment is more of an obligation than a hard and fast rule,is this true and what would i have to do to move from adelaide to brisbane

    thanks in advance

    Hi mandy

    Welcome to BIB,

To be honest with all the changes that have taken place I would not feel confident giving you an answer, It used to be the case that it was more a moral obligation rather than a legal one. I do not know if that still applies. My suggestion would be to go and see a good agent or imigration lawyer and get some sound advice. This may cost you $100 but at least it would be reliable advice.

If it is the case that you cannot move to QLD then dont let it get you down, 2 years is only 24 months. just count them down, I am willing to bet you are now under the 24 months and they are just ticking away. QLD will still be here in two years, and we will still welcome you to our friendly state.

I hope you can get some positive news,
