    Hi,

Me and my soon to be husband are looking to move to Brisbane next year and are just looking at applying for our Visa. He is a skilled electrical engineer and I graduated from uni with a degree in business management two years ago and am currently working in financial services as an investment clerk.

Ideally I'd love to have a job lined up for when we move out there so we can have a source of income as soon as we arrive, but I'm struggling to find any sponsorship opportunities for graduates and aren't sure how long it would take me to find a job once I arrive there.

Does anybody know if employers offer graduates such sponsorship, and if so can you recommend any good websites/contacts I could view/get in touch with?

If not, I'm hoping to find a job as quickly as I can once I arrive in Brisbane, and wondered if anyone has any advice or tips that they could give me on what I can do/where I can go to find work quickly in Brisbane?

Your help/advice would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    Jennie and Lee

    Hi Jennie & Lee,

Welcome to BIB, I hope you find it useful.

I think first of all you need to find out how you stand with visa's and what visa's will be available to you. You need to know what skills tests you may need to take to obtain a visa/sponsorship. Can I suggest you contact a couple of reputable agents for an appraisal of your situation and an assessment of what is your best course of action. Most reputable agents will give you a 15 min chat on the phone to advise what is your best course of action. Then you can decide if you need an agent or if you are able to go it alone.

    Go Matilda
    Visa bureau

Those are well respected agents who will normally give you a free assessment.

Once you know what sort of visa and what sort of sponsorship you need (if needed) , then you can start to move forward.

WARNING ...... Applying for visa's causes massive headaches. Good luck with your adventure.....
