Lots of people ship their entire house contents over, choose a company you feel you can trust and you will be ok. We only brought personal items and tools, worked well as we didnt spend weeks on air-beds and beanbags waiting for our shipment to arrive, lol. It does boil down to how good your stuff is what it means to you.
Shipper wise we used Crown as its crown this side and crown in the UK ,so less hassle if something did go wrong ,as it turned out they were great and everything arrived on time and in tact, its quite normal for people to get 3 or 4 different companys out to quote and pick who you then feel will give you the best service.
    Good luck

Cals dead right. What does your stuff mean? If its a family heirloom that you dont wanna part with.......ship it! If you can do with a new one.............dont ship.

Where are u in UK? We used Simpsons in Kent. Mum and Dad are in Ely and using them too.

Worth bringing nicer furniture if you have it

We are just waiting for our shipping to arrive but have been surprised at how expensive sofas and other furniture is, even at Ikea. We wish we had brought a little more of the bigger furniture with us. We used KG-Logistics to ship and so far they have been very good. We shipped about half a flat's worth of stuff and including insurance it was about 2,000.GBP.
We havent recieved our shipping yet because the port has been closed due to the Brisbane flooding but so far so good.
Just think about paying to replace it and then weight that up against the cost of shipping it. Its probably cheaper to bring some stuff and leave other.
    Hope that helps a little!
