  1. Hi everyone

My name is Michael and I am a Real Estate agent specialising in the Redcliffe and surrounds.

I am hoping that I am able to help anyone out if they have any questions on moving in and around the area. I am quite familiar with migrating and moving to different countries for work.

I have found that in places like Redcliffe the local people are not so used to be transient. They are not used to many new visitors and when you do move to these areas simple questions that locals take for granted are hard to find answers to.

    For example?

Where can I get certain types of groceries? and where can I get things at the best price?

Where is a good place to get my hair cut? - common for many ladies

Obviously I specialise in Real Estate being a property consultant but often there is alot more to property when we have a unique lifestyle associated.

Any questions please feel free to ask me and I'll only be too happy to help.

    Michael

    Hiya Michael,

Thanks for letting us know, and offering your assistance. I am very interested in Redcliff as have some friends living in Kippa Ring. I will be headed that way in September 08.

My main worry is that I will have three teenagers and a 27 year old nephew in tow, so will be looking for somewhere that will suit us all. Never visited Oz before so it is all new to me.

    Thanks again

  3. Hi Mrs C

I am happy to assist you with finding a place no matter what agency it may be listed with. I have numerous contacts through various offices. There are plenty of outdoor activities around and Kippa-Ring actually hosts some of the finest in prestige properties in Redcliffe.

Here is an example of one property that I have listed : http://virtualhometours.com.au/eldersthistle/

I have recently sold another property in a suburb called Woody Point on the southern most point of the Redcliffe peninsula and for some reason it has really been popular with Brits! it is featuered on this link here: http://virtualhometours.com.au/eldwp/

Mrs C would you have any idea on what price range you maybe looking at? I've found that many Brits can enjoy a larger and more luxurious property for less cash then what it would cost back in the UK when they buy in Redclife.

  5. Hi Mrs C

I wanted to just give you a link and some information that may be important to you when you do decide to move:
http://www.firb.gov.au/content/default.asp - this website should be able to provide you with most of the information you need regarding what you can buy.

Secondly if you need to find rental accommodation whilst you search for your new home I can provide you with places to stay but I need 3 months rental payment in advance. In this current market there are limited vacancies for rental properties and many landlords ask for reference checks and afford to be very choosy. Sometimes very short term accommodation does become available but it is a scarce commodity.

    Hi

This is a really difficult thing for me to answer. If I knew more about your personality I feel I would be able to give you better advice.

I only know of positions that are available in my area which is around Redcliffe.

I can try and get into contact with my Office network which is 'Elders' but if you are new to Real Estate I would probably recommend working in an office where it is much easier to list. I started out with GoGecko which was a capped commission office and that launched me into my new office with a solid database.

Please feel free to contact me anytime.

    regards

    Hi Michael,
I took a peek at the two links you suggested , very nice properties. It looked very pricey though. Is this average of the area?

    any suburbs to avoid?

I too am looking at 'good' suburbs for me, my husband and 5 year old son.
Would love to hear about Kippa-Ring, Redcliffe, North Lakes plus any suburbs nearish to a beach?
Never been to Brisbane but chose this city as me and husband both feel it offered jobs for both of us. Are there any suburbs to avoid? Is north Brisbane preferable to the south? I am also really worried about flooding because of the river - should I be concerned?
so many questions but this is a biggy for me - desperately want to feel settled and at home in the right suburb.

Lots of familys head to Redcliffe ,North Lakes ,Mango hill areas, there are some lovely houses on North Lakes but built very close together ,it depends what you want ,everything is close by with the shopping centre ,schools etc. Mango hill just down the road looks lovely too,we had our heart set on Deception Bay but when we eventually visited it just didnt ''do it'' for me,lol.
Most familys opt for furnished accommodation for a few weeks to have a look around and then sign up for a rental for 6 mths ,this gives you a god chance to get a feel for an area ,if you dont like it you will have found somewere you love by then to move to ,,Good luck with everything

Hello April, my name is Clive and I've just discovered this forum. I'm an expat myself and have lived in the area (burpengary/morayfield) for 20 years and I've worked in Redcliffe for the last 15 years.

I would be happy to help you with any questions that you have about the area, I work in a hospital, my wife is a school teacher and we've brought up two children.

We are planning to leave and return to the UK towards the end of '09 and are selling our house (http://web.aanet.com.au/~kneebs/HouseForSale/ForSale.html) the price is negotiable.

I would like to say that we've been very happy here and that although there are some areas to steer clear of it's generally a nice region, well serviced with access to city, coast and country.
