Hi all, well all my paperwork is sorted out now. Medical done, police checks ect. Did any of you apply for a partner migration visa? If so how long did it take??

Hi, I applied for mine at the end of August 2011 (followed two weeks later with Med and P Checks) and got my visa (approved for subclass 100-permanent) on the 15th of December 2011. I had been told it would be approx 5 months. However I would suggest that you keep in contact with your case officer via email as in response to a query I made on the 15/12/11 I got a response which had attached my approval letter. Not sure when I would have found out otherwise...
Brisbane bound it April 2012! Good luck!

It does depend on where you are when you apply, The UK is currently 3 to 4 months I believe. Australia is around double that. Other countries will have their own approval time

I applied at the beginning of November, I haven't been asked for a medical, is that normal? Jo

Hey there, well done on sorting all your paperwork. How much of a nightmare is it!?! I found it very stressful and was so relieved when it was all done. So happy days yours is sorted :biglaugh:

My application was submitted on 17 Oct '11 and was granted on 15 Feb '12. 4 months, which is pretty good going. I am overjoyed to have the answer I wanted. So excited for the future now. Only 2 months until I head to Brisbane!

Stick it out, it will be hard along the way. The stress of not knowing and constantly feeling in limbo will certainly take its toll. Remain positive!

    Good luck!

A medical is usually required with submission of your application. I think they can follow at a later date but I would certainly get the ball rolling and speak to your agent if you haven't already got anything booked up. I had to wait a couple of months to get mine so best to get booked up.

Thanks to everyone that replied. With any luck I should have mine by march/April and looking to go around June/July this year. I'm sure there will be no problems but I'm sure you'll all agree its just a pain having it hanging over your head :)

After posting on this thread I emailed my Case Officer and she had forgotten to give the HAP number! I have it now and did my medical three weeks ago, I hope she can hurry things along since it was her fault I was waiting around to do the medical. Here's hoping!
