  1. Hey guys

    New to the site but not new to Aussie Land. Have been in Perth 4 years and now looking for sea change. We are coming over to QLD for a reccie on 12th April to look at schools and areas. Originally from Essex but left 2007.

    Any info would be great. My kids are 14 and 11 both boys and really outside kids lots of hobbies especially motorbikes (suppose like most boys).

    Hubby is in construction and has interviews lined up over there. We are looking around pac pines, sanctuary cove and also mount tamborine area's. If anybody has information on any of this that would be great.

    Cheers guys x:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Hi and welcome to BIB. We are at the other side of Mt Tamborine to Pac Pines, its a growing semi rural area with mainly acerage plots, lots of kids around here have motorbikes. My 12 yr old loves it as he can jump on his bike when he gets home from school and no-one bothers him. Logan Village, Cedar Vale, Stockleigh are all other areas this side of Tamborine where you will find kids with bikes and acerage plots to blast around on.

    You would need a more spread out area than Sanctuary Cove or Pac Pines if you own motorbikes. Both these places are nice areas but quite built up so not ideal for bike owners really. Guanaba is pretty close to Pac Pines but has acerage plots,, as does Canungra although Canungra is a tad on the quiet side for kids.

    Hope this helps a bit

    There are a few good schools around those areas and the school bus access's most places if you arent around to do the school run. Would you be looking for private or public schooling?

    8 days will fly so quick ,lol, when your here just drive and drive, go the long way round to everything as its by far the best way to discover areas.

  5. Either state or private what ever is the best for my eldest as he is Dyslexic, he also has trouble settling in places as he is quite shy.

    He is 14 and when i told him your son goes out on his bike most nites he was like can we move near them then lol.

    Hubby is going to have to travel and is happy to as long as kids are settled.

    Thanks for your help you have been really helpful to me.

    Maybe a pint when we come over lol x

    A few good private schools worth a look and accesible to the above areas are Canterbury College, Emmaus College and Hills Internatinol. All carry a pretty good reputation in the area, i think fees start from around $3000 pr year.
    My son goes to Flagstone State community College, whist my daughter is across the road at Flagstone State Primary,, both are doing better than ever and settled well into school here.
    Tell your son Zak has a KLX110 and a 125 import thats abit dead at the moment, lol,, he should be on TV around May time so if your still around i will let you know when he is on so your boys can see. The section he filmed is migration through a kids eyes and he tells of the differences from his point of view.
    BMXs and Scooters are pretty big here to, Zak and his mates disapear some mornings on their BMXs and turn back up at tea time knackered,,lol

    Beers are in the fridge waiting,,lol
