    Hi everyone

We recently relocated to Brisbane from the UK and we are living in Bridgeman Downs with our 3 children (aged 5, 3 and 1), my eldest will be starting in prep at Albany Creek State School soon. I'm a stay at home Mum and wondered if there is anyone in a similar situation out there who would like to meet up with the kids sometime.

I have a car so don't mind driving somewhere.

Would be lovely to hear from you.

Hi Jane my kids are a bit older now but i met some of my good friends via Kindy. Ask who your child plays with and try to arrange some play dates, also take every oppurtunity to take up invites to them, its surprising how quick you can meet people this way.

Hope your enjoying Brissy so far

Hi MCJ, we have decided to make the move over when the other half gets her sponsorship from The Mater Hospital (fingers crossed), we have good friends in Albany Creek (Flinders Way) who have been advising us for the last few weeks. We have 2 girls aged 12 & 5 and obviously their schooling is paramount to us, we wondered if you could advise us as best you can with the area and the schools there. We havn't decided on a location to settle as yet but obviously knowing people near by would have it's benefits. What does your other half do in regards to work, I will have to make a fresh start in regards to employment as I have to be a resident in able to carry on what I have done for the last 16 years.

    Thank you

    Hi Glenn

Good luck with the move, I hope it all works out! We live in Bridgeman Downs which is next to Albany Creek, there is also Eatons Hill and McDowall all close by. Our son Jack has just started at Albany Creek State School in prep, we looked at Albany Hills also but felt that AC slightly edged it for us. It seems a great school and Jack is really enjoying it. The area is great with loads of facilities and things to do, lots of sporting stuff, swimming pool, etc.

There is also the State High School close by which from what I can gather has a good reputation also.

I hope this helps, keep me posted and feel free to ask anything else.

    Jane
