Hi all,

Just wanted to say hi and to introduce ourselves. I am Sam married to Martyn, we have 2 children and live in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. We are applying under my husband Martyn's skills as he's an accountant and wondering if anyone knows what work opportunies are like for him in Brisbane also what areas we can start looking at to live. I'll be a PA when (if we get visa) we arrive but I want to stay home for a few months to settle the children in. We have 2 children, Katie age 6 and Kyle 20 months. Hoping to come over around May next year. Ideally I'd like to live near a beach but I understand there are no beaches in Brisbane (?) and that Gold Coast is an hour away? What is the cost of living like in Brisbane? Are houses affordable for say £200k GBP or $450k oz. Anyway hope someone replies.

The Sunshine Coast has a laid back feel..Lots of beaches within easy reach..We live in Beerwah which is the Sunshine Coast Hinterland but Caloundra is only 15-20 mins away with some gorgeous beaches..Mooloolaba is 25-30 mins and again is a vibrant place..We like it here as we have the Glasshouse Mountains and a community feel with superb primary and secondary schools, but is close enough to lots of beaches

Hiya Brisbane dosnt have beaches as such but the sunshine and Gold coast do ,,an hour isnt a long time to travel in Oz ,,lol,prices for city and beach front living have drastically risen this last year and $450 will be towards the bottom end of the market both city and coast.Are you having a reccie? If so check out the suburbs just a little inland ,property is much more value for money and there are some lovely areas,good luck its a tough choice

help need some info on where to start would like some advice on migration agencys lookin to take family over my hubby ,son and dog. just dont know were to start would love to move to brisbane for better family life anyone know any good migrations experts ?

 

2 agencys that always get good feedback ,and i know wont rip you off are Visa Bureau (who we used) and Go Matilda,you wouldnt go wrong with either,both offer a free phone consultation so give them both a call and see who you feel best with ,good luck
