Hi everyone I'm a new member soon to be moving from Adelaide to the Brisbane area.
I'd like some advise on areas please. We want somewhere where its quite hilly with plenty of trees around as near to the city as possible. A friend who's recently bought a house in Sherwood mentioned Chapel Hill and Kenmore as possibilities. We dont want to live on a mountain top or anything just somewhere thats not flat.
We dont need to be too near the city as we know house prices are higher the nearer you are to the city, but if we're further out we'd need to be nearer to the motorway.
Our house has gone on the market this week down here and we're looking at coming up there around easter time.
Also are there any area's to give a wide berth to ?
Any advise on areas would be good.

    Thanks

hiya guys ,im by far an expert but have managed to get around a few suburbs.I stayed in chapel hill for a while and your mates right its pretty hilly!! anywhere around there and Mt cootha are hilly suburbs. If you do find them pricey have a look at areas around Mt tamborine another gorgeous place with decent surronding suburbs and not too far from anything.Lots of Brisbane suburbs are hilly it depends what you really need hilly for as for recreatinol purposes(biking climbing etc) mt Cootha and Mt Tamborine would be best. Can i be nosey and ask why you need to be near the city ?,property is really expensive at the moment and so are rentals i have just helped a family from Perth relocate and they had to be near the city,it was a nightmare trying to get a rental,we did it though so persevere and youll get there,,

    Hi Cal,
Thanks for replying. To be honest we dont need to be near the city , we just kind of fancied it and wanted to be near for social purposes.
Neither of us have got jobs sorted out yet, I'm self employed in the construction industry and can be at a different job / house everyday so I need to be near the motorway to get around easier and my wife is a nurse and could end up working anywhere.
We went to Mt Tamborine whilst up there recently and although its nice it would be way too far out , we want to be decent sized community with all amenites around us.
Do you think we would have any trouble renting if we car'nt find somewhere to buy straight away, we have 2 dogs and I know down here some landlords won't allow dogs.
Got other things to ask but I have to take my son swimming so now. Cheers

hiya ,it wont be as easy with 2 dogs but you will still get one ,id give yourselves 2 or 3 weeks to secure one.Mt cootha would probably be better as that is just outside the city, have you looked around ipswich too? lots of places up there are hilly,,there are a few hospitals in brisbane and another big one logan ,work wise for your wife ,theres also lots fo private ones dotted about,
