    Hi all

Has anyone heard any news on the national broadband rollout, have heard if it goes ahead there will be thousands of jobs laying out the network and as a fibre cable splicer as well as a residential installer and kind of hoping this will get me on my way. Any news would be helpful, cheers

    Hi Steve,

The broadband program is hanging in the balance at the moment because of the hung parliament. One party will scrap it, the other will keep it going so you are looking for Julia Gillard to stay in power to help you.

On the other hand, the mayor of Brisbane is considering using the sewers there to get cable to every home and he may do that independently of any government decision. It may be worth looking around the Brisbane area to see what jobs may be in the offering.
