    Hi everyone,
Me and my partner moved to Oz in June 2008 from 'Uddersfield, West Yorkshire and have spent the last 14 months in SA, 6 months in Mt Gambier and 8 months in Adelaide.
We have visited Brisbane a couple of times and are wanting to move over. Can anyone recommend any suburbs to live or any suburbs to avoid please.
We are both 25, Im a Civil Engineer and my partner is a Physio (any jobs going for Physios please?).
We would like to be close to the action for going out and also work (I will be based in the City Centre) however I think the cost of City Centre living may be a little pricey.
Is there anywhere close by with easy access to and from the City please?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Dave and Joanne

Hi guys if you have a look at some of the western suburbs such as Sinnamon Park, Jindalee, Springfield lakes etc all give you easy access to the city without being in the hub of it. Property is still reasonably priced and there isnt really any ''to avoid'' areas. You also have the advantage of good public transport to the city (parking is very expensive in the city centre) which is handy if you like a drink of a weekend.
Most of the action in the city seems to be around the fortitude valley end, not sure you would want to be smack bang in the middle of it though, lol
    Hope this helps a little

    Hey Dave and Joanne,
If there's only the 2 of you and you like going out I reckon you've got to live on a train line , within 6 kms of the CBD/Fortitude Valley/ west end.
We're a bit old for that goin' out caper now but if we were in your position we'd have a look at Bulimba, Toowong,Milton, West end, Albion, Windsor or Paddington.

    Hi Dave and Joanne

I would definitely look for somewhere on a train line. It does mean the cost of housing is a bit higher, but it's also convenient. There are physios all over the place, so I think from that point of you where Dave is going to work is the main thing to consider.

As others have said the Fortitude Valley area is the place to go at night.

    Good luck with the move

    Love

Thank you for your responses guys.

We are still looking but have seen a couple of nice ones both in Hamilton and Annerley. What are these places like please?

    Thanks again

I`d be looking over a wider area. A lot depends on where you are going to work too. We live in SInnamon PArk which is about 12k`s from the CBD. We get the bus into town many times. They have rocket buses here in our area which basically stop once between Sinnamon park adn the city. I can be in the CBD IN 20 mins by bus
