    HI Everyone,

We're now finalising our plans to move to Brisbane.

    We are a family with 3 kids, 2 girls 13 & 3 yrs and Angus 8yrs.

I'll be based in Darra and I'll be moving first in about 5 weeks time. Looking to meet up with golf buddies and to meet friends at any of the BBQ's organised.

Joan and the kids will follow later in the year.

We like the look of Redcliffe to settle when the family come out. Any recommendations of schools both high school for Robyn and primary for Angus.

    Hope to hear from you.

  2. Hi Derek,

Redcliffe to Darra is a long commute, so not very practical - unless you are working in sales, and you don't have to be in the office that often. Have you considered some of the places in the south-western suburbs. It's nice around Toowong, Taringa and Indooroopilly and would be must closer to your work. There are some good schools in those areas too...

Redcliffe is certainly a nice spot, but the beach is not ideal for bathing - be careful if you take your kids there...

Best off sticking to the Redcliffe lagoon! :)

    Cheers, Matt.

    Hi Derek
I agree with Matt in that Redcliffe to Darra will be a nightmare commute, its is a lovely area but at the opposite side of the city to where you need to be.
There are some lovely areas a lot closer to Darra that are great for familys,i guess it depends what you want from an area. Check out the western suburbs for a start.

I have to agree with the other posts that Redcliffe to Darra would not be an ideal commute. You are talking about an absolute minimum of an hour, and in traffic that could double.

If you want to be by the water, I would head to one of the suburbs on the southside, in the Bayside area.

    Good luck

    Love

I agree with the others. We are closer to the city than Darra. Our place to the city can take 20-60 minutes depending on time of day and traffic and you could be looking at 20-30 minutes on top of that for travelling to Redcliffe.
