  1. Hi,

This is our first post, though probably many more to follow!

Can anyone offer advice/share opinions of using a UK based migration agent as opposed to a company based in Oz? We have enough points as my husband is on the skilled workers list, and as its just the 2 of us (& our 2 dogs) I think we should have quite a straightforward application (hopefully)!

    Hi Jo and Les

Welcome to the forum. If you have a straight forward application do you really need to use an agent? We didn't, but it was many years ago. Our application was anything BUT straight forward, but it was easy to do. It was just a case of being organised and following the instructions and providing the necessary documentation.

    Welcome to BIB.

I used Australian Visa: Australian Visa Bureau, but I must admit if i had known then what I know now I would probably had a go at doing it myself. I think it is easy to get into the mind set that you must have an agent. I would suggest you contact a reputable agent and take advice on the best visa, and the costs involved. Then look at the pro's and con's and decide if you need an agent or if you can do it yourself. If you use an agent then make sure they are fully registered and offer a fixed price for the visa.

Good luck with your application

We used Visa Bureau who im sure are based in Bristol, they were fab and we really wouldnt be here without them.
It is possible to do your application yourself, but with the changes Immigration keep making at such short notice if i had my time again i would still use an agent.
Most offer a money back guarantee but for me it was just having someone who knew what they were doing talking me through step by step and double checking everything before it is submitted.

    Good Luck with everything
