    Just on the off chance anyone should know - are there any oppourtunities for training to be a midwife in Brisbane, Universities and hospitals?

    we have looked into this for our daughter,we found all unis on the sunshine coast do courses but she has to do a bachelor in nursing first before moving into midwifery

    hmm so it appears they havent been introduced to the wonderful 'direct entry' course yet then, i think i will be looking further into this and see if its on the horizon, I have no interest in general nursing, and am working atm as a private maternity nurse.

    direct entry midwives

    Hi I did a two week placement three years ago in the Royal North Shore hospital in Sydney as part of my midwifery training, at that point direct entry was just being brought in so it is on the increase out there. I have a direct entry friend who has emigrated and got a job no probs.
    We are applying for our visa on my qualifications of direct entry and so far there have been no probs. hope that helps :D
