I'm Steve and my wife Lisa are both Registered Mental Health nurses. I manage 3 Rehabilitation and Recovery units for the NHS in the North East. My wife is Advanced Practitioner for Personality Disorders in a community setting. Both currently at Band 7. Can you tell us what the opportunities for work are like in the Brisbane & Gold Coast areas?
A friend of mine worked in the Redland Bay area community mental health team a year or so ago, before moving on and settling in Melbourne. He said that work was easy to come by at that time.
Are there plenty of vacancies at present? At what stage should we look for jobs?
We intend coming out on a PR visa, and have just started the process. Any tips, suggestions or advice would be most welcome.
