Hi All New to the forum so just say Hi as hoping to move to Cairns shortly. Just waiting to have medical etc done. I have just been diagnosed with a Cardio Myopathy and was concerned whether this would stop me getting a permanant visa for here? I was just wondering if anyone else had any similar experiences?
Hi etjnev Welcome to the forum. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your medical query, but touch wood all will be ok and you'll get your visa. Good choice with Cairns by the way:yes:, we moved to Cairns in November after spending 6 years in Melbourne. Wish we'd have moved here sooner.
Hi, I have a heart problem that resulted in me having a stent fitted in the right coronary artery and I will be on tablets for life. I was asked to provide a letter from my Doctor detailing what if any ongoing treatment was needed and a copy of the consultants last report from my doctor. You can get these before you go and when the doctor asks about it you can give the report. The Australian immigration are basically concerned about the future cost on the Australian health service. A letter stating it is under control and stable with medication should save you any problems.
Hi thanks for that. Puts my mind at ease a bit as I am being sponsered to move there. Would be a pain after all this to fail the medical. I'm seeing the consultant shortly so I can talk to him about this then. Simon
