I have a heart condition and I know we need to get medicals done some point soon, getting a bit worried, as on the visa it said heart disease which i have not got so put no, i have had my condition all my life and it does not effect me unless i run or walk up hills (like most peaple) when i told my agent he asked if under control and yes as i take tablets, does anyone know if this will effect my visa, very worried and wondering whether to pull out now, have a job offer and really want to go with my husband and start a great new life .

    Hi Imills,

    Welcome to BIB.

I have a heart condition that has in the past required me to have a stent fitted in the right Coronary artery. I am on medication for life. I supplied a letter from my doctor to confirm the condition is stable and the medication I take for the condition.

I was also worried about the medical side but I had no problems and they just sent the letter from my doctor with the medical report.

I have been in Australia nearly 2 years now and found the medical care here is first class.

thank you for your response, made me feel a bit better, just so worried as dont want to let my hustband down if i fail, Do you think that if i take a letter with me from my specialist it will help, I never take time off work due to the condition, and have never had an operation for it and i feel so much better in warmer weather, hate the cold!!!!
    thank you again.

A letter from your specialist would help. basically their main concern is what you could cost the Medicare scheme, So a stable condition that does not require surgery should be fine.

Just a thought, keep a copy of the letters from Doctor and consultant, so when you get here you can give them to your new doctor, to explain your condition.
