Hi there, my wife, 2 yr old daughter and i have recently arrived in Brisbane from the UK and are keen to meet up with other families with a view to making new friends and sharing ideas etc. We lived nr Brighton in the UK and now are in Thorneside on Brisbane's south east and would love to catch up with anyone in a similar situation in the area around Redlands to find out about playgroups etc. Would appreciate any feedback cheers !

    Hi KaylaJay,

Thanks for getting back to me, Cleveland is no problem and would be great. My wife, daughter and i could catch up with you anytime except Tuesday/Thursday. Perhaps we could meet at a park somewhere in between if you have a car ? Why don't you drop me an email at d4j2005@hotmail.com and let us know when youre free and we can take it from there, it would be good to catch up with some fellow "poms".

    Hey Louise ...

I can't speak for Thorneside as we are in Manly ... but there is a Facebook group with a few members who live down that way. They all post regularly on pomsinoz and arrange local meet-ups .... many people join the FB group and then ask the members for their views on the area. Also, perhaps think about attending one of their monthly meets ... the group consists of people from suburbs across Brisbane. Might be helpful for you?

    Welcome to Facebook

Hello. I Live in Manly. Is anyone interested in a coffee meet up down on the waterfront. It's always good to meet people from back home and make new friends. There's a good play area for the kids. We've a 11 month old boy.

    Hi everyone
Our move to Thorneside has fallen through. We got the building inspection done and there was just too much costly work to be done. My parents arrive mid Feb for a month and after they have gone we will start looking again in the area. Will be in touch then for a coffee/meet up/ picnic!

Oh dear, that's such a shame. I think it's really hard to set your heart on a house and then have it all fall through. I hope you find somewhere else to live in the area once yu have enjoyed some time with your parents.

    Love

    Rudi
