Or more specifically Broad Beach. Would love any advice on the sort of things I should be checking out or looking do before getting there/on arrival. Have lived in New Jersey before, so loosely familiar with setting myself up. When I start my accommodation is paid for as are work related travel expenses, on top of this I will be getting $300 per week, how far is this likely to stretch?

I presume you are single? To be honest $300 a week is not a lot, even with all your housing and transport paid for. As a single person with your transport and housing costs covered you would probably manage but I feel it would be tight and that is if your company are picking up all your housing bills including utilities, mobile phone and internet.

Be interesting to see how others feel about the costs of living in the area you want to live in.

If your a bit of a 'home bird' and dont go out much you could just manage but as Colin says it will be tight. If you are responsible for paying your own utilites i think you will struggle to pay bills, get out and about and save a few dollars for a rainy day.

Thanks for feedback so far. I think my household bills are actually covered too, things like electricity, internet, phone etc as it will be communal living with colleagues, in the past with similar companies this has always been the case, so I think 300 is basically for food/drink/entertainment, which might have a significant bearing...
