hi I am jan, and have been living on the gold coast for 19 months, we have come here on a 4 year buisness visa, my hubby paul is a kitchen installer, but this year up to now not done much work, and our savings is going down very rapid, but we are prepared to stick it out, I miss my family very much, but we love the life style here and the lovely warm climate, even though it has been hard at this moment, but it is also hard being back in the uk.

 

Hi Jan welcome to brits in brissy, it is a tough time at the moment on the job front but you hang on in there and hopefully things will be on the up again in a few months.

Hello Jan, Peter and Susanne here. Until last we were living in Springfield Lakes, where we built our new house. We couldn't find a kitchen fitter at the time (Nov 07) and the one we did employ was a real cowboy. I don't think the situation has changed according to some friends who are currently building. Perhaps you need to look at how you advertise your services, because I am sure there is still a lot of work out there. Hope this helps, hang in there, it will be worth it in the end. hi guys, things are getting better the only thing paul has had to go and work in hervay bay, 7 hours from were we live, but at least it is work, I am flying back to England on fri, just for a month to see my new granson, But we are not giving up we just love everything here,hope you guys are ok, jan and paul

 

Have you thought about getting PR and citizenship so that your options are alwyas open?
