    Hey guys,

Not long until we go (woohoo!) and still considering where we're going to rent in the initial 6-12 months. We aren't sure exactly where we're going to be working, but there is a good chance that I will be in the city and hubby on the gold coast. Therefore, somewhere to the south in between isn't a bad idea.

Anyway, looking at realestate.com.au there seems to be a lot of brand new 4 bed 2 bath houses which would be ideal for us in principle, and the price seems ok - $350-$400 but i'm just wondering whether it's a 'a nice estate in the middle of beirut' type of place - we'll find out once we arrive but just wondering whether anyone could give me the heads up?!

    Many thanks as always

    Kerry.

Eaglby is an ok area, may seem cheap as its next to Beenleigh which doesnt carry a great rep ,although its only the centre of Beenleigh people seem to avoid living in. Compared to places in the Uk though its not at all bad. Mt Warren Park is another popular area not far from where you are looking, i know of a few familys who moved there and are very happy.
Anywhere around there would give you good access to coast or city and they are only minutes from the highway.

    Thanks Cal,

Good to bear in mind - how long a commute do you reckon it would be to the city in the morning?

    Regards

    Kerry.

I have never done it but i would guess about 30/35 mins. If i was working in the city i would be parking at one of the ferry terminals and getting the river ferry into there, parking in the city is really expensive, if i ever have to go ,i park (free) at Bulimba and catch the boat.
    Hope this helps
