Just a quickie, what are the packages like for internet access and telephone.

I've got an iphone and ipad and use both heavily on 3G as I have a large data allowance, what's the deal on these on Oz?

And how do the internet packages compare with the UK?

To be honest it just depends where you end up living as to what is available, there are several companies that are now offering special deals. I have added a link to Bigpond (telstra) that should help you see what bundles are available.

Even living in the Brisbane area the companies that can supply you will vary from one district to its neighbouring district.

From what people say, it is MUCH more expensive than the UK - especially for data allowances on iphones etc....so be prepared to pay a lot...or spend your time going from one Maccers to another and making use of their free wifi!!

Must admit to using MuckDonalds a few times just for the wifi, coffee totally crap though.

 

I often don't even go inside!!!

The coffee from the McCafe section is usually ok.

I tried to log on as Joe and Leanne but keep forgeting my password too many passwords are dirving me mental.

I had an I phone on o2 PAG 15 quid fee internet and text, nothing like that here, they treat you like a dafty its hard to explain but you can work it out for yourself via the internet the main companys are Telstra, Optus, Vodaphone they all have there own packages for 3G Landline, Home Broadband and Foxtel (sky)

Tell me about it i found a pre pay company that doesnt try to confuse you with $30 get $250 credit @ 0.49 per minute.
Its called slimtel www.slimtel.com.au it came out best value for money on a comparison site it would do on the short term until you find a deal you are happy with.
