  1. Hi can anyone point us in the right direction for the cost of pool in qld. I know its a bit of a how long is a piece of string question but we are just trying to budget things before our move from SA.
If anyone could suggest a good company (as their are several dodgy ones here in sa!) that would be good.
    Thanks

Hi Lee there are lots of company's out there which sell and install pools, some better than others.
One of the larger company's is the Barrier Reef group, this is who we used and all i can say is never again!!!! (but thats another story).

When looking into having a pool i asked around the locals if they had any regrets ,almost everyone said not getting a deeper one, mainly as the kids grow so quick and want to dive, its easy for them to ''outgrow'' the pool.
We went for the largest fibre glass one on sale at the time ,it is just over 12mtrs long and nearly 5 mtrs wide. With the excavating, fitting, plumbing ,temp fence, tiled surround and concreting and then proper fencing (which we bought and fitted ourselves) we were left with little change from $30,000. A lot of money to lay out although it is payable in 3 installments,, but when i consider the hours the kids and big kids, lol spend in there it is money well spent in my eyes.
As i say this is for a big pool, prices out there start around $15,000,plus extras (tiles, lights, solar etc) for smaller sized pools.

Another cheaper option is too buy an above ground pool and sink it, if done properly it is difficult to tell its a vinyl pool. These are also good for sloping land as with a decking surround they can look great. The life span can be shorter than an in-ground pool as it is common for the inner of the pool to crack or tear over time, which requires you to empty the pool and buy a new liner.

i hope this helps a little
