I've been looking at the maps again and noticed an area inland from Redland Bay that looks quite nice. It's Sheldon/Mount Cotton/Burbank. Does anyone know what this area is like? Can you get a property with an acre or two without spending a million? And are there any quiet family beaches within easy reach? There seems to be quite a few schools to choose from?

Yeah they are all nice areas but not much acerage under $900k so you will either need a good nestegg to bring with you or bloomin good jobs to pay the mortgage,,lol

Rudi might know about schools around there.

    Hi Emma

Mount Cotton / Sheldon etc are lovely areas. Nice schools, beautiful countryside, but close to shop and amenities etc.

Acreage is surprisingly affordable - especially around Sheldon and Thornlands. You can pick up an acre or two with a 4 bedroomed house, with a pool for around the 700k mark.

Quiet family beaches are at Victoria Point, Redland Bay, Raby Bay (my favourite) and Wellington Point.

We live on Acreage in Thornlands and LOVE it!!

    Love

That sounds perfect! I know we wouldn't be buying a property for a year or two but it would be nice to know that if we get settled somewhere that we would be able to afford a nice place. I wouldn't want the kids to have to keep moving schools.

    Thank you for your help.
