Hi everyone. We arrived in Brisbane last week - that's myself, husband and 2 children. After having a good look around I think we have decided on Manly. Be great to here from anyone who lives in or around this area.

There are a couple of posters - Myrtle and Minarie Poms (I think that's her name!!!) who live up near Manly and they are both happy there. We are a little further south in Thornlands, but love the whole of the Bayside area. We find it fabulous for families.

Let me know if you need any help with anything.

    Love

We've recently moved to Manly and so far love the bayside location. Been in Bris for a few years living in Bulimba, which is also great for families. We've a 11 month old boy. If you want to meet for a coffee & cake, get in touch.

Feel free to ask away! We've been in Manly since July 2010 and loved it from the word go - and still do! There's a great vibe and loads to do with children. One thing to know though ... is that rentals can be tricky to come by .... but as long as you are alert and chase the agents, you will get there! If you are after state schools, manly state has the best reputation, but be warned there is a catchment area. Feel free to ask any specific questions and I'll help wherever I can!

Thank you all for your replies. We have looked at a couple of rentals in Manly and seeing another couple tomorrow. We are also having a look at Manly & Manly West School. Any feedback on these schools would be helpful. Will defo be up for a coffee and chat as soon as we are sorted.

We are also moving to Manly!!!!

    Hi Helen and everybody,
Hope you've had a nice Crimbo?

Well, we have finally signed up on our new rental which will also be in Manly! We get the keys on the 9th Feb so getting rather excited now. Even though we love Bulimba where we are now,we just couldnt get a house big enough to suit our growing family without paying silly prices or forfeiting on something else, so we are moving to Manly where we equally love!
Now need to sort everything out, removals, utilities, get carpets cleaned on current property etc etc-going to be a mad couple of weeks
Oh well, will hopefully be worth it when we are having a little drink on our new balcony-and then it will be chaos all over again when baby number 2 arrives in April! ha ha ha
If anybody could recommend a good daycare in Manly for my 2 (soon to be 3 year old in Apr) I would really appreciate it. I have been looking at the Manly C&K but he'll be on a waitlist and wouldbt be eligible to start until next Jan I dont think? The only other one Ive seen is the Mother Duck, but dont know enough about it....
    Thanks everybody!

We managed to secure a rental in Manly too and get the keys on Wednesday. The children start Manly State on Tuesday. Really pleased with Manly and like it more every time we visit. Good luck with your move Rach.
