    Hi everyone,
New to the whole 'Brits in Brisbane' Fingers cross I'm hoping to come over to Brisbane November this year
I'm a nurse so just going throught the whole Ielts English test and registration with the Queensland Nursing Council. Any tips would be gratefully accepted as it just seems like a never ending nightmare which I'm sure will only get worse but will be very worth while in the end
    Thanks and bye for now

Alright Pricey, My names gemma its so nice to hear from someone in the same boat as me!!! Way hey, I know I am sitting my IELTS exma on the 28/29 may, so you can get a prep book which is dead good, I have only flicked through it to be honest, but link here for you Cambridge ESOL: TOP TIPS for IELTS, PET, FCE and CAE

So are you going over on your own? Were you planning to work and live??
We are hoping to live just north of brisbane. I know what you mean about this nursing malarky, its mad I cannot enroll wih the QNC until I have passed this bloody test myself!! I think it helps actually being english but knowing my luck I'll pi**in fail it!! Its never endin paper work and certifying everything 10 times over...what visa you goin over on? we have got a residency 176- nearly 2 years to go through, criminals!! It'd be lovley hearing back with how your getting on but defo recomm that book xx

    Hi Gemma,
Nice hearing from you. Got my Ielts results yeaterday and I've passed (it took me half an hour to pluck up the courage to open it) Good luck with your test, you'll have to let us know how you get on. The practice book is excellent, I was really worried but it gives you some good tips. There is a lot of work for the reading and writing so just be careful of time.
Planning to send my QNC application next week however I'm sure you can send it before you've sat your Ielts and get them to forward your result on to the QNC (I didn't want to tempt fate though so waited till I'd passed!) The NMC are really good as well, if you have any problems or need advice. Start gettting your paper work in order now as its a nightmare collecting everything.
I'm off on my own, yeah but got a friend there who's been out for about two years and loving it. Been looking into the Princess Alexandra Hospital as I work in a busy ICU in Sheffield and want somewhere that has a good work load which this hospital seems to have, fingers crossed I'll get a job but my agent doesn't think I need to worry. Visa wise I think I'm going on a 457, I think this will be best as although I plan to stay I can keep my opinons open.
Good luck with your test, I'm sure you'll be fine
    Pricey xx

Ahhh, thats well sound that you have passed, big congrats to you!! Oh god I best start revising pronto then, the problem is if I start too early I'll only forget stuff!! God its dead exciting for you, I just can't settle until this exam is passed. Its good to hear the the NMC are helpful too. The ANMC have all my details as they done a skills assessment so I am trying to get them to send over to the QNC, I have got married since so changing my name is abit of a mare at the mo but getting there!!
Good choice re the princes alexander thats exactly were I want to work not in the outback cause apparently its suppossed to be abit behind, not meaning that in a bad way but my background is 2 years renal plus diaylsis now working on cardiology so I like the busieness!! Ahh well have to keep in touch and let me know how you get on with it all and vice versa, its so nice knowing that your not on your own with this, bring on the tannage!!! Speak soon and congrats again xxx
