Hello, I've just arrived from the UK this week and have settled with my Aussie wife in Corinda, Brissy. Looking forward to getting more familiar with the country and Brissy in particular.

Brissy is brilliant, the most un-citylike city I've been to. Very clean and not too crowded, lovely atmosphere and nice people. I finally got reunited with my wife after clearing Customs on Tuesday morning and I love it here. Certainly don't want to go back to grey old England, with the litter and the chavs.

Met my lovely ladys daughter for the first time today, which was a bit nerve-wracking though not as much as meeting my father-in-law for the first time this weekend will be! She was wonderful :) just like her mother.

Here's to the new life in Aus... thought I'm still not sure about the summer heat! At least I arrived in winter so it feels like summer already :p

    Welcome to Brisbane Raven Wolf!!

It certainly is a very suburban city and while this can be a drawback if you like the buzz of a big city for those of us with kids or who are living a family life it is very pleasant as you can live in the thick of things near the city while still being surrounded by trees and family stuff at a lot more affordable price than the bigger cities.

Summer is by far the most difficult season in Brisbane. It is the price we pay for a mostly great autumn, winter and spring.

As I'm sure you know it can sometimes be very humid and we get fantastic afternoon storms. Before summer make sure you are setup with good air conditioning (or alternative) in your home and car and make sure the drainage around your house is good as it can get very wet, very quickly in a sub tropical storm. Saying that there are still plenty of days in summer that I enjoy as humidity is not always high and you adjust to go out early or late in the day so still time for outdoor fun.

If you have any problems just ask and we will help. Hope your meeting goes well :)
