Just thought I'd say hi, seeing as I'm new to this site. I'm on a few other sites and found this through them.
I'm Mathew, 24 and a maintenance fitter, wife is Kath, 25, teaching assistant. We live in workington, Cumbria.
Went to Oz last year on honeymoon, came back and booked to go again this year, going to have a weigh up whether to make the move or not.
Stayed on the Gold Coast last year for a week and absolutely loved it, will be in and around the Brissy area for 9 days this year in July!

If/when we apply we'd apply for a 175 visa on my job as a maintenance fitter. I take it you guys are loving it out there? Is it better for kids? did you find it hard leaving people back home?

Life is great, you do get frustarated with some things and have up and down days but for us the ups much outweigh the downs right now.
Missing family and friends is natral i think, we wasnt over close with family (other than my Bro and Aunty) so it did make moving a little easier.
The kids love it, school seems more enjoyable to them, the teachers more friendly and helpful. Mine were always outdoorsey kids anyway so they love having the pool, motorbikes etc, they made friends relatively easy and settled much quicker than 'we' expected.
