    :rolleyes:Hi everyone

this is the first time we have been on this site , we are hoping to move to Brisbane this year, but we are only at the very early stages of applying. MY husband is a plasterer and waiting on his trade to be assessed before we can apply for our visa's. I am a pharmacy manager. We just wanted to say hi, i was just wondering if any one knows if there is still enough work over there for plasterers? Jason has his own business over here but things have been really slow since last year, its like everywhere is in recession. We are a little nervous about the move or should i say i am. Its been great reading all the posts, they have already helped us out. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi welcome to brits in brissy , i have relocated 2 or 3 plasteres now and 'touch wood' they are all still working. Plastering is very different here ,rendering is pretty big so its good if you can do that but plastering mainly consists of boards up, tape on ,job done! lol they dont skim over the boards like the uk.
Hope this helps a bit, are you keeping an eye on job sites such as www.seek.com and www.alljobs.com.au to see whats about ?
    Cal x

    Hi Cal,
Thanks you so much for the reply, that helps alot to know the differences between plastering here and over there, yeah we are used to skimming. Is that what rendering is ? We will take a look on the jobs sites you gave us as well, thanks for the info. Things are processing very slowly right now. Its been raining all week here, so we cant wait to join you all for the good weather. May call on you again for more info on what you do in relocation and the prices of rental etc, thanks again for you help Ruth
