We are still in the early stages of the application process - wishing it would go quicker. Myself, hubby (carpenter & joiner) and 4 year old son. Hoping to move to Brisbane end March/April 07 and looking at Carina area.

Hi Guys,

My wife, (Jamie) & I are also heading for Brisbane 8) , we have submitted our police clearances & had our medicals done recently, so hope to get a positive reply to our application by christmas (fingers crossed), we hope to 'activate' our visa's with a holiday (including further research) in March '07.

So where about's are you planning to live in Brisbane?

Do you guys have a case officer or did you frontload?

Our application was submitted in July so we still don't have a case officer yet and have decided not to frontload although we will send for our police checks in November.

We are going for a reccie to the Carina area in February to see if we like it but at the moment we are pretty open to where we will settle (assuming we get the visa of course). Are going to visit the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast as well to get a feel for the place. Guess a lot depends on where hubby will find work.

Hi Scotschick,

At the moment we do not have a case officer, we did not frontload as were not in that much of a hurry to be honest & just as well we didn't as the TRA 'approved' my application within a few weeks of submission! a nice suprise, as we were told this process would take 6 weeks to 3 months.

We have submitted all paperwork/medicals & police clearance's now, so we now wait to be contacted.

I think you will love both the sunshine & gold coast, they are simply wonderful! 8)
We will base ourselves close to Brisbane for the first 3 to 6 months, when we arrive.
