    Hi

This is going to sound crazy to most of you but my Husband is interviewing with a company in Newstead next week. Due to his lack of annual leave left at his current job in UK. He can only afford 5 days off work! So he leaves UK Mon arrives in Brisbane Wednesday morning and flys back again Saturday lunchtime.

This will be his first visit to OZ and Brisbane and we are really hoping that this interview will be sucessfull and if sucessfull we hope to move to Brisbane once visa sorted etc.

Any thoughts, tips, hints what he can do for the 24 hours he has free in Brisbane. He won't have a car!. Its not ideal but its all we have got.

We will need schools and a rental property if he gets the job so anything that may help with that would be great.

He could try and line up some face to face chats with agencies or other companies as a fallback position. Or alternatively he could go to the city beach at southbank and lie down in the sun and have a snooze :)

If offered an Australian salary figure remember to ask whether the 9% super is included in the figure or not. Employers will often include the 9% as it makes the salary look bigger but remember this 9% is not part of the salary, it is a statutary 9% payment on top of the salary that the employer must make directly into your husband's retirement account.

Also divide the salary figure by approx 2.2 (difference in average salaries) to get a feel for what sort of salary it is in stirling. Don't divide by the exchange rate as this is inaccurate way to compare salaries and cost of living.
