we are a family of 5 hoping to be in brisbane area early next year.I would be grateful if anyone could give us some idea of decent suburbs with good schools for primary aged kids near to the beaches or rivers (for fishing)

Will you have to commute daily ? if so the drive will more than likely destroy you , the highway can be chocka especially at peak times and is known to be a nightmare . In fact i think any beach side suburb will make commuting to Archerfield a nightmare. If you still think thats what you like maybe have a look around Redlands or the North end of the Gold Coast (ormerau, jacobs well etc) as these areas will give you easy access to the highway to get to work and are pretty near the beach.

The best bet would be river front as you could get a lovely area thats much easier to commute to work.

    Good Luck with everything
