Hello! .........looking for a friend [IMG]

Is there anyone out there living on North Lakes already who can give me some advice?

We came back from visiting Brisbane earlier this year and decided to buy some land on NL, however I now have a couple of North Lakes questions (bit late I know)! We have 2 children who we are hoping to get in the State College so we will be needing rent on North Lakes when we arrive later this year - Is rent on NL hard to come by- what documentation/paperwork would we need?

    Few generic panic questions :[IMG]

Is living on North Lakes all it's portrayed to be?
Do you find it difficult getting to work and back?
Are house prices on North Lakes going down at the moment?

Any info on living on North Lakes would be appreciated - thank you in advance

P.S I'm confused, I did join POMS in OZ forum but it said all Brissie stuff on this website - am I in the right place? should I delete my poms in OZ account?

    Hi Susan

We moved over in 2004 and having been living in NL eversince. We rented at first for 2.5 years before we found a house we liked. Couldnt do the building thing as I didnt want the stress.
Check out the North Lakes website www.northlakes.com.au and try www.seqrents.com.au this is a rental site you can choose NL. We rented on The Crest which is a gated complex with a communal pool and shops nearbye. They are very good with Migrants and are flexible with paper work. I know you do need to show some documents but you can email them and ask what they are very helpful. Harcourts realestate also have rental properties and you can try www.realestate.com.au for rentals in the area too. I would say its reasonable easy to rent in NL at the moment you just have to put a few applications in and hope you get one of them.
House prices are stable at the moment I dont think houses at the top end of the market are moving much but others are selling around $500,000 and below
NL has everything you want shopping centre, library with internet hire, community centre, doctors, dentist etc etc you dont need to go far to get what you need. Lots of walking paths, biking paths, lakes, golf course and wild life including kangaroos.
There are lots of brits who live on NL now not so many when I first got here but lots now.
Hope this helps you if you need anymore info I am happy to help just let me know Karen
