Just wanted to say hi! Myself and my fiancé are moving to Brisbane in a few weeks, our visa should be finalised soon. We are both very nervous about the flight as we have a little boy (Finnley) who is 19 months old who is allergic to sitting still. Does anyone have any tips for the flight? Hope to meet some of you soon, Anna and Nathan
Hi Anna I too panicked about the flight, my kids were 2 and 8 and couldn't even sit still to watch a video never mind a flight to Oz ! lol We flew with Singapore Airlines and it was 10 times better than i expected, the on-board entertainment kept them occupied on and off, we walked up and down the aisles quite a bit, went to the furthest possible toilet etc etc. Make sure he doesn't sleep unless you are in the air and make sure you have some nibbles for him. Do shifts with your hubby, a few hours each is good as it just gives you a break to close your eyes for a while. You might not get much sleep, or be able to watch a full movie, but it really shouldn't be as bad as you think it will- honest ! Good Luck with everything Cal x
We are defenetly looking forward to the sun. When we get their nath's company are putting us up in Brisbane center for 4 weeks. Do you know any good places that i can go with a very active little man who hates being stuck inside, that are not to hard to get to without a car? Anna x
Southbank, the man made beach it is great for kids. Also a trip up and down the river on the river taxi keeps them occupied. Most parks have excellent play areas, ask the company where exactly your staying and search the gov website for parks in that area(or post here and i will see if i can find some for you). Playgroups are pretty much everywhere too and some cost as little as a dollar a session. Dont worry too much there is loadssssssssssss for littlies over here. Cal x
Thanks for that you have made me feel alot better, i kept having visions that i would b stuck in a city like london with nowhere to take him!!!! Will let you know when we find out where we will be staying. thanks again.
Hi all well we have been here for a week now, Nath has started work and i am now starting to feel very alone at home with a nearly 2 yr old. We have just found out we are no longer moving to brisbane, we are now staying in goldcost instead due to work reasons. Is anyone living near robina or helensvale that would like to meet up for a coffee?? Would b great to hear from someone. Anna xx
Hi Anna if you go to our other site www.pomsinoz.com and look in the socialising section there are always meet ups, coffee mornings etc dotted about the Gold Coast. Glad you arrived safe and well was th flight as traumatic as you thought it would be ?lol Cal x
