    Hi folks,

It is my first post here, and I have a real dilemma for you, that I would appreciate your thoughts on...

It has taken me almost 3 years to get my Visa, and it finally happened on 09th October 2012, which I am so happy about because although I have never been to Australia, it something I have wanted to do for some time, start a new life in a new country, and Queensland, Australia seemed like the best option from my research.

My problem (of which I have many :biglaugh:) is this... Despite numerous applications to various companies around Australia including the southern states, my heart is set on Queensland. I have been unable to get a bite from any employer.

I know one of the issues, is that I am still based in the UK, but I simply do not have the funds to leave a secure job (for the moment) and chance my luck by moving out there, I had hoped that employers would be receptive to someone with excellent IT Skills and prepared to move out there in a very short space of time.

I have provided them all the possible information they could need to contact me if they wanted to interview me, email, telephone and even Skype, still nothing.

I have focused my efforts on Seek.com.au, but unaware of other resources that might be beneficial... if anyone has any tips I would be so grateful.

    Yours

    J

    Hi
It is very difficult, almost impossible to secure work until your here in the country. If coming prior to finding work is not an option then by far the best way to source work is making phone calls, as its much harder to 'fob off' than an e-mail. Also dont just rely on Job ad's ,lots of migrants find work by cold calling companys.
The white pages on line is good for company names and contact numbers.

I hope this helps a little and i hope you find something soon

Hi, it might be a good idea to contact some of the employment agencies in the UK who have contacts in Oz. You never know what might come up
