Hi all, does anyone else commute from Brisbane to Perth for work... My hubby Is thinking of doing it as he has a job in the mines, his colleague does it but would like to chat to others also he works one week on one off, thanks in advance :biggrin:

 

Hi, we are living in Perth at the moment and considering moving over to Brisbane or sunshine coast. My husband will continue doing FIFO, for a while anyway. He does 26 and 9 so will just have to see how it goes. We are coming over next week to have a look at different areas and make another big decision.

 

Hi there, your partners shifts should work fine, my hubbies friends on the same as him 8 and 6 and he's happy doing that, have you visited the sunshine coast? I love it over there, we moved from uk to Perth 6 years go and fancy a change although Perths weather is great, sunshine coast weather does worry me a bit lol but love the lifestyle and close proximity to so much more

 

We actually moved from melbourne 12 months ago, we lived there for 5 years but wanted better weather and a quieter lifestyle. We like Perth but find that we are really cut off from the friends we have made and also find you've got a long way to go to see things, which we aren't used to. We think that Brisbane would offer us more as a family, we've got 2 boys 11 and 8. We don't regret trying Perth but we aren't sure if it's the right place for us.We have been over to Brisbane and the Sunshine coast before but looking forward to having another look.

A friend of mine is doing that too. He commutes to his workplace in Karratha (spelling?) and loves it. It's really no big deal at all and he enjoys the flight as it gives him time to work on his French studies!
