Loving Queensland so much we want to buy after 6 months. Just one problem we are so confused by the building process and reviews of such. Any recommendations or personal experience would be grateful - going round in circles here!!

    Hi,

Sorry I just saw your post, I believe in QLD you have to register as a builder if you wish to build your own property, I do not think it is too difficult to register as a self builder but you would have to contact your local council to see what is involved as it will vary from place to place. Once registered you can then arrange to employ the professionals you need and sort out what work you can do your self, Things such as gas fitting and Electrical work must be carried out by a registered professional, but other stuff you would be able to do. If you get in touch with you council I am sure they will have a department to deal with it. they seem to have departments for everything here :jiggy:
