    Hi Folks,
we were wondering if anyone knows what the appartments in the Chevron Renaissance in the Gold Coast near surfers paradise are like? we are a youngish family of four (2 girls 12 & 5) Are we near the theme parks and are the transport links good as we dont intend to hire a car.

    cheers

Most of the theme parks have courtesy buses running from the hotels and the ctr. However,, you will be restricted in other ways if you dont get a hire car,, you maybe ok for a short break but for anything longer or a reccie i would definately hire a car so you can get out and the see beyond the tourist square.

Hiya John , that sounds like a good plan,, the only reason i mention it is Surfers is pretty touristy and doesn't give you a real reflection of what the Gold Coast has to offer. You see people arrive, visit Surfers and say 'nah the Gold Coast is too touristy'' lol. IMO the nicest parts of the coast are the southern end down to Tweed and the hinterland,, less tourists and more genuine people.

    Have a great trip
