  1. Hoping to follow my daughter to Brisbane in 2 years time, I have heard in other Australian Cities there are areas called "Gated Areas", built mainly for the older person. Although 56 at that time I don't think there will be much call for an Electrical Project Manager, so I will have to consider retirement being the prospect and pay the fortune for my Visa.
Does Brisbane have these "Gated Areas" there does not seem to be many when you look through the Internet Sites they all seem to be in the Melbourne, Sidney, Canberra Areas.
Are the outer Areas of Brisbane worth looking at, in the countryside for instance and are they safe.

Hiya there are lots of these complex's about, here they are called over an 50's complex. Many have pools, and activites, most also allow pets which is good. Google over 50's complex outter brisbane and you should get some results. Have a look at this that came up when i looked http://www.itsyourlife.com.au/developments_qld.asp

There are lots of gated communities around and not just for the elderly. I lived in Centenary Quays in Jindalee. Very nice and reasonable rent. RIverside views
