    Hiya
you don't really need them at all , if you have any medical conditions just get a letter off your GP or specialist stating any tests or procedures you have had and when they were done and the results. Also get him to list the medication you are on and carry a repeat prescription with the medication when you fly.
If you have children all you will need is their Red Books make sure they are up to date and have all the innoculations listed that your children have had.

You certainly don't need to part with any money, save it for when you arrive, lol
    Hope this helps

Many thanks Cal for your quick response. So when you sign on to a GP in Aus, wont they need your GP Medical Records?

No, you also don't have to sign on with a GP if you don't want too, many places are like walk in centers, it is always worth shopping around a bit at first as costs can also vary from center to center, especially if the GP doesn't Bulk Bill
