I'm moving to Brisbane in a few weeks after unsuccessfully getting a job in NZ after relocating from UK! Got to go where the work is. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone knew of a decent serviced / unserviced furnished 1 bed apartment near CBD or in close proximity that can be recommended to rent until I find my feet and somewhere else to stay? Always hard finding a "home" when you're not in the county so thought an apartment to start with everything there would be a good start.

Also, if there is anyone else in same situ would be nice to hear from you.

Yes mate, there is a great site in Woolloongabba called Gabba Central. It's 3 years old directly opposite the 'Gabba stadium. It's built over three blocks and up to seven storeys, with two gyms, pools, bbq's and a Coles at the bottom. Quite a few of the one, two and three bed apartments are furnished. It's a one minute walk to the bus station and ten minutes to South Bank. The address on the real estate websites is 803 Stanley St
