    Hi,

I'm moving to Brisbane next week with my girlfriend and the biggest thing I'll miss about the UK is my regular 5 a side game! Does anyone know of any regular games in the Brisbane area? I'm not sure about the popularity of it down under but would love to carry on playing when I get there.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hello Paul

I moved here with my girlfriend about 6 months ago and im ready to get back into football. I know they do play 5 a side games here. Where abouts are you moving to? perhaps we could start a team up?

    Hi Matt,

Not sure where we're moving to yet, it depends on the job scene really. Living in the city centre at the moment. When we move I'll let you know. Where are you living? Really want to get a game or two a week out here though so I'll be in touch soon.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hi All,

There are regular tournaments around the city. There's also a large warehouse at West end which has 5 indoor pitches. If you play the tournament seen it will cost you about $10 a game.
I don't play tournament but me a a few guys/girls from work have a kick around on thursday lunch times down in the botanic gardens. The skill level is very low but it's good fun. If you fancy coming along let me know or just pop along at 12.30pm at the eastern main gate of the botanic gardens on any thursday. We generally have between 5 and 10 (normally 5) players so the more the merrier.

  5. Depending on where you're living, check out www.qldfutsal.com.au.
5 a side is known internationally as Futsal. Until recently, I played at West End on Thursday nights, but they also have Mondays.

You can contact your local area co-ordinator, and they'll tell you to rockup with your boots, play a few games as a fill in, and if you're handy, teams will clamour to have you, good way to meet some real locals too.
