    Hi All
clan mac here, we are new to BIB. My children are a bit freaked out at the thought of the creepy crawlies, come to mention it so am I. We visited 18 months ago and I must admit I was scared to sit outside after dusk in case we were mauled by something poisonous. I appreciate that most of the nasty wildlife probably doesn't come near humans but anyone got any info?????

Been here 7 months and seen one Redback spider, not seen any snakes. We have geckos running in and around the house that eat all the creepy crawley’s. You just have to be sensible and not leave shoes and stuff outside, and if your kids have bikes check them to see if anything has made a home under the saddle.
I often sit outside in the evening and have never suffered any ill effects apart from a couple of mozzie bites, and not seen many of those. The local council spray the area to kill of the mozzies. You can use insect repellent and various sprays and other stuff to keep the insects at bay. If you are worried about creepy crawley’s you can have your home sprayed to keep them away. My biggest problem is ants, nasty buggas that bit.

Cheers for that! much appreciated. I suppose the children are educated in school as to what's safe and what's not anyway?

    Hi Clan Mac

You will see scarey crawlies out here but not half as much as you think you will. A good regular pest spray will keep most things out of your house, and mossie repellant early mornings and evenings should keep most things off you,lol

We dont get many flys and mossies round here but the few that we do did spoil eating outside, etc so we enclosed our patio,,its now totally bug free, makes a shaded great undercover play area for the kids whatever the weather,, definately worth the few $$$ it cost to do.
